In August 2025, CHR Design Solutions and the Housing and Environment Department of Riga Municipality signed a contract for the design of the City Canal bank reinforcement and repair works. The project covers the section from Kronvalda Park to the 13 January Street overpass, where increased bank erosion has been previously identified.
Under the contract, our team will carry out a full scope of design services — from topographic surveying and geotechnical investigations to preparing and coordinating the construction design with the Riga City Development Department, as well as providing construction supervision during the works.
This project represents an important step towards improving the urban environment and protecting waterfront infrastructure, ensuring both safety and an attractive setting for the residents and visitors of Riga.
