Client: Freeport of Ventspils Authority
Start date: July 2024
Completion date: April 2025

On the commission of the Ventspils Free Port Authority, SIA “CHR Design Solutions” has successfully completed development and coordination of the complex technical design documentation and got all necessary approvals for the project “Construction of Shore to Ship Power supply system at Berth No. 16 and Reconstruction of Cable Ducts at Berths No. 14, 15, and 16.”
The following parts of design documentation were prepared: GP (General Plan), HB (Hydrotechnical Structures – reconstruction of cable ducts and reinforced concrete foundations for three dispensers), BK (Structural Engineering – foundations for container-type buildings), T (Cost Estimate), UATS (Fire Detection and Alarm System), AR (Architectural Solutions), DOP (Works Organization Project), ESS (Electronic Communications Systems) ELT (outdoor power supply) (including relay protection part).
This will be the first berth in the Port of Ventspils (as well as the first one in Latvia) where ferries will be able to use shore to ship power supply points. Within implementation of the project, vessels will be able to use electricity from an onshore grid connection. Berth No. 16, constructed in 2000, provides mooring and servicing for ferries and other passenger vessels.
SIA “CHR Design Solutions” has also concluded an agreement with the Client for the provision of construction supervision (author supervision) services.
